Representative Government

What does it mean to be "represented"?

The US Constitution called for one representative for each 30,000 citizens, but was capped in 1913 at 435 members.

If we were to go back to the original agreement, there would need to be 11,667 members in the House of Representatives.

While assembling thousands of representatives for the purpose of legislating would be logistically and parliamentary impossible, it shows that as our population increases our voice in the government has virtually vanished, and will continue to shrink as the population grows.
